Thomson Reuters to publish correct 2008 Impact Factor of 2.222 for IJSEM

Following an investigation by staff of the IJSEM Editorial Office, Thomson Reuters have confirmed that the 2008 Impact Factor published for IJSEM (1.463) is incorrect. The correct value is 2.222; the discrepancy arose because of the change in publication frequency of IJSEM in 2006.

The following information has been received from Thomson Reuters:

In September, we will re-load data in the JCR Web interface and the following corrected 2008 data for INT J SYST EVOL MICR will appear:

This error also means that the 2007 Impact Factor published for IJSEM (2.384) was incorrect, although to a lesser extent. Thomson Reuters are now unable to issue the correct 2007 Impact Factor for IJSEM, but calculations made by IJSEM Editorial Office staff suggest that the correct impact factor was approximately 2.6.
